Jenson Button sees Sebastian Vettel and Fernando Alonso competitive at Marina Bay ? Formula 1 news

Jenson Button of McLaren believes that Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull Racing and Fernando Alonso of Ferrari will be his biggest rivals during the Singapore Grand Prix.

He told that he will try to finish the race ahead of his teammate, Lewis Hamilton as well.

The McLaren driver accepted that Vettel has been strong at the Singaporean circuit and he believes that he will be his biggest rival during the weekend. He further added that they cannot ignore Fernando Alonso as he has exhibited impressive performance during the long run during the Friday practice session.

He told Autosport.com, ?Sebastian has been consistently quick here. Red Bull seem to be very good on street circuits and they have been all year. I don't think he [Vettel] is going to be the only person that's competitive. Fernando will be up there as well. His long runs look reasonably competitive. I think they'll be good.?

He commented that Formula 1 is very unpredictable and unexpected things may happen. Besides, he said that it would not be ordinary if Sauber starts attacking all of the sudden. Sauber currently holds 6th?position in the Constructors? championship.

?You never really know in F1 these days. Maybe Sauber will spring an attack from nowhere. The Lotuses I see were not happy yesterday but that can easily turned around today,? he added.

Furthermore, he told that the Lotus drivers, Kimi Raikkonen and Romain Grosjean, did not seem satisfied with their cars but they can easily turn around by the race day.

The Singaporean circuit is bumpy and is the only circuit which hosts race at night. Street layout and narrow width makes it difficult for the drivers to overtake and it has never happened since 2008 that any race finished without safety car. Vettel will have an added advantage as he won the Singapore GP, last year.

McLaren currently attains second position in the championship with 243 points. It is announced by the team that they will be targeting to attain the leading position in the remainder of the season. Let?s see how the British team performs in the remainder of the season.
