XBMC 12 released – includes Raspberry Pi and Android support

The build up for XBMC 12 has been a big one, with the possibility of it being one of the biggest releases of XBMC ever. As development progressed, small yet important updates were made ? HD audio support was added, 10bit h.264 video decoding, and various our tweaks and improvements. Then the big changes started to come ? initial Android support, native Raspberry Pi support, and the platform wide inclusion of Live TV and PVR support.

The Live TV and PVR function is a huge step forward, as this truly makes XBMC a portal to your entire TV watching experience. The extra hardware it now supports natively also give you many more options for creating low-powered, low-cost media centre solutions. While you?ve been able to run XBMC on Raspberry Pi?s before with OpenELEC, Raspbian and RaspBMC, now that Frodo is out these distros can only get better.

You can get XBMC 12 for a variety of devices and operating systems from the download page.
