Tramore ? The Best Place to Live in Ireland

From Brownstown Head to the newly painted Metal Man; whose warning of imminent danger to all sea going vessels in the area still rings loudly in the ears of locals ?Keep out good ship, keep out from me, For I am the rock of misery? to the unfortunate sunken ships (famous Sea Horse) that lie in a watery grave under the jagged rocks surrounding the bay, Tramore is an old town steeped in history.
By the 1750s the small fishing village of Tramore began to expand into a popular sea- side spa resort; promoting its sea water and coastal climates as a formula to good health and people started building properties to accommodate visitors and so the little village was transformed into the popular sea-side resort that it is today.

?Big Strand? is the English translation of its apt name as its famous golden sandy beach stretches for 5km, ending with one of nature?s wonders; beautiful sand dunes teaming with wildlife, ready for big and small children to explore.

As a youngster I grew up in the sleepy town of Tr? Mh?r, not so sleepy anymore, it has awakened into a busy sea side town for locals, visitors, day trippers, ?blow ins? and of course the prodigals returning home for a chat and catch-up with family and friends.

Tramore has everything to offer to its guests; Water Sports, Spa Treatments, Horse Riding, Tennis, Golf, Walking, Horse Racing, Festivals and Events, excellent Restaurants and Bars, all the ingredients for a good Irish holiday.

You can enjoy all the thrills and excitement you could want in Tramore?s 50-acre amusement park, and experience fun for all of the family at the all year round indoor leisure water leisure centre.

I can?t say enough about how beautiful the panoramic view from the Doneraile Walk is, or how on a warm summer day you can stroll along the shoreline and cool your heels in the clear waters, or grab a surf board and catch a wave or two before strolling up the long Promenade happy and content after a relaxing day at the beach.

The sunsets are spectacular over Tramore Bay and if you?re lucky enough to be standing on one of the sand dunes looking back at the town you might think you were in heaven as the sky turns watery blue and the setting sun is a golden orange ball, slowly slipping behind the headland and as night falls over the town all the lights of the amusement park sparkle and call you to join in the fun and frolics.

To me Tramore is a very special place, and whereever I travel to around the world I always tell people about my old home town by the sea and its charm and natural beauty and I hope by sharing this with you I can appeal to readers all over Ireland to return to good, old fashioned, fun family holidays at home in our own little, lush island of Ireland.

Bigfoot Family Visits Party Store For Goat Supplies

Delicious Digg Facebook LinkedIn reddit StumbleUpon Twitter Bit.ly Email PDFmyURL

Everyone loves having a birthday party in their honor and the Bigfoot family is no exception. Due to how close knit the Bigfoots are, however, they continue to celebrate the birthdays of all adults involved in full party mode. In fact, in some Bigfoot clans, the adult parties rival the kids parties in fanfare and decorations.

Finding the ideal party supplies can sometimes be a challenge for Bigfoots, though. In spite of the challenges, over the years, the Bigfoots have evolved enough so they are usually able to find what they need in time to throw one of their infamous parties.

?My family and I are a quiet and peace loving folk so it was really upseting when people would run screaming from us when we came to town to get our party supplies,? opines Berta Bigfoot gently. ?Fortunately, after a few more visits to town, people began to let their curiosities get the best of them. Soon, we were able to locate a party store nearby.?

Says Pearl Tucker, ?I admit I was slightly taken aback by the sight of this quartet of giant fur covered beings that had to bend down to comfortably enter my party store.? The owner of the town?s only party store, Party Supplies Palace, continues,?It wasn?t long, however, before I was put at ease by the Bigfoot family and we got down to the business of discussing their party supply needs.?

Finding new and fresh themes for the parties for the members of the Bigfoot family has been proven to be a challenge for both the family itself and Ms Tucker.

?Since the Bigfoot family has a history of throwing big and elaborate parties for all of its members, they had pretty much exhausted their options for this year?s events. Fortunately, after a few meetings with the family, both here at my shop and at their own home, I was able to get a feel for what they like and want,? Ms Tucker shared. The results were a number of special orders that focused on the theme of this year?s parties: the goat.

Pin the tail on the goat, a goat pinata, and goat themed plates, napkins, table coverings and cups are just a few of the items visible to the party guests who have been fortunate enough to snap up an elusive invitation to one of the Bigfoot family?s parties.

Automotive News: Hemmings Daily: Bonus Memorial Day newsletter ...

Announcements Typically, we take the day off on Memorial Day, but we've had so many great stories as of late that we thought we'd send out a bonus Hemmings Daily for those of you not grilling or at a family reunion this weekend. We'll also take this opportunity to mention two veterans programs we here at Hemmings support: Operation Mend, and The Road Home. Have a safe and happy holiday!

Along with its iconic design and color (known as International Orange and chosen for its high visibility in the often fog-shrouded area), the bridge has also shown remarkable utility and durability, having stayed open with very few exceptions since May 27, 1937. Hemmings Finds of the Day - 1952 Jeep M38A1s

Posted by Daniel Strohl - Memorial Day is, of course, a federal holiday reserved to commemorate America's war dead, but it's also a day to recognize American veterans. As car guys, we can think of no better way to do so than to feature a couple of military Jeeps as Hemmings Finds of the Day. The first one, above, a 1952 Jeep M38A1, appears ready for a parade, complete with a trailer. From the seller's description: Colonel's Command Jeep (M38-AI). Three-year restoration. Marqued for death: more American orphans

Posted by Jeff Koch - Now that the dust has settled on American car-company reorganizations, and no more long-storied nameplates are under duress for the moment, Hemmings Classic Car wanted to take a look back at America's orphaned marques. Post-WWII, more than two dozen nameplates have been discarded as detritus, even though they mean a lot to an awful lot of people. Thus in the July 2012 issue, we take a look at these marques that dropped by the wayside, either because their time had passed, because their bosses and keepers gambled ...Read On>>

Sunday! Sunday! Sunday! Stock car racing in Gardena

Posted by Daniel Strohl - Gardena, California, is known to many a Southern California gearhead for its rich dirt track history. Throughout the 1950s, the city supported three different dirt tracks, including Gardena Stadium, a third-mile dirt oval that on March 9, 1958, hosted the NASCAR Pacific Coast Late Model 150-lap race. The photographer from the Los Angeles Examiner who photographed the race didn't seem to leave behind any captions with his photos, which we found on the USC Digital Library's online photo archive, but that won't keep us...Read On>>

What you need to know before buying a vintage race car

Posted by Harold Pace - This BMW 2002 is a good example of a reasonably-priced vintage racing car that could be raced with many clubs. Vintage racing is fun, no doubt about it. Sliding your favorite classic car around a race track while dicing with newfound friends sounds like an ideal way to spend all that free time you keep hearing about. I've been involved with vintage racing since the early 1990s as a driver, crew member and race official, and have seen the phenomenon take off from a few poorly attended events to world-wide popularity...Read On>>

Annan condemns "appalling crime" on visit to Syria

AMMAN (Reuters) - Peace envoy Kofi Annan denounced the killing of at least 108 people in the Syrian town of Houla as "an appalling crime" on Monday and urged President Bashar al-Assad to prove he wants a peaceful resolution to the crisis racking his country.

Assad's forces killed at least 41 people in an artillery assault on the city of Hama, activists said, shortly after the U.N. Security Council condemned Friday's massacre in nearby Houla and put at least partial blame on Assad's heavy weaponry.

The Damascus government, however, denied troops played any role at Houla, blaming the killings on knife-wielding Islamists.

With international criticism growing of Assad's methods in trying to crush a 14-month-old uprising, now accompanied by a lightly armed insurgency, U.N./Arab League envoy Annan visited Damascus for talks on his faltering peace plan.

He explicitly urged the Syrian government to "take bold steps to signal that it is serious in its intention to resolve this crisis peacefully" before adding: "This message of peace is not only for the government, but for everyone with a gun."

Russia and China, which had previously vetoed U.N. resolutions condemning Assad, both approved a non-binding text in New York on Sunday that criticized the use of artillery and tank shells on homes in Houla - weapons the rebels do not have.

The Syrian Foreign Ministry, however, in an open letter to the Security Council, denied tanks played any part and blamed instead hundreds of Islamist "terrorists" armed with knives.

China said it was "deeply shocked by the large number of civilian casualties in Houla, and condemns in the strongest terms the cruel killings of ordinary citizens, especially women and children".

But by declining to blame the government alone, Russia and China kept their distance from Western and Sunni-led Arab countries that say Assad must step down.

U.N. monitors say at least 108 people were killed in Houla, among them dozens of children.

But many of the victims were also hacked to death or shot at close range, as shown in graphic images distributed by activists, and U.N. monitors were unable to establish conclusively who killed these.

ANNAN PLAN

Russia and China have resisted joining Western and Arab League sanctions against Assad. Both reaffirmed on Monday that Annan's plan, accepted by both sides in the conflict, was the only way forward and Russia suggested that the violence in Houla had been intended to sabotage his visit.

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao said support for the agreement, and a peaceful resolution, should be stepped up.

The deal calls for heavy weapons to be pulled out of towns and cities, followed by an end to fighting, and dialogue.

But the attack on Hama was a reminder that the plan, policed by just 300 monitors, has done little to stem the violence.

"The six-point plan has to be implemented comprehensively, and this is not happening," said Annan, who was to meet Foreign Minister Walid al-Moualem on Monday and Assad on Tuesday.

Opposition sources said Syrian tanks and armored vehicles opened fire on several neighborhoods of Hama on Sunday after attacks by rebel Free Syrian Army fighters on roadblocks and other positions manned by Assad's forces.

The dead in the course of 24 hours included five women and eight children, the Hama Revolution Leadership Council said in a statement. "Tank shelling brought down several buildings. Their inhabitants were pulled out from the rubble."

The report could not be independently verified.

U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon said in a letter to the Security Council that he hoped Syria would use Annan's visit to "fundamentally change course and choose diplomacy over guns to ensure that the legitimate aspirations for freedom, dignity and prosperity of the Syrian people are met".

Ban said a cluster of villages in the Houla area had been outside government control until Friday.

Houla is mostly populated by Sunni Muslims, while many of the surrounding villages are dominated by Alawites, the offshoot of Shi'ite Islam that provides most of Assad's ruling cadre.

A video distributed by activists showed an injured woman, who said she had survived the Houla massacre, blaming members of Assad's shabbiha militia for the carnage.

"They entered our homes ... men wearing fatigues herding us like sheep in the room, and started spraying bullets at us," said the woman, lying next to another injured woman and near a baby with a chest wound.

"My father died and my brother, my mother's only son. Seven sisters were killed."

"TSUNAMI OF LIES"

Syrian U.N. Ambassador Bashar Ja'afari reiterated his government's assertion that the massacre was the work of "armed terrorist groups" - the Syrian government's term for the rebels.

He dismissed a "tsunami of lies" from the British, French and German envoys, who blamed the government for the massacre, among the worst carnage in an uprising that has cost more than 10,000 lives.

"We are dealing with a situation in which both sides evidently had a hand in the deaths of innocent people," Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at a news conference with visiting British Foreign Secretary William Hague.

French President Francois Hollande and British Prime Minister David Cameron discussed Syria by phone, condemning the "senseless murderous brutality of the Damascus regime" as a threat to regional security.

While both endorsed the Annan plan, they also called for an "orderly democratic transition" for Syria. Hollande said France would call a meeting in Paris of the Friends of Syria - Western and Arab countries that want Assad's rule to end.

Britain summoned Syria's envoy to express its condemnation of the massacre. Senior Foreign Office official Geoffrey Adams said that unless the Annan plan was implemented in full, the international community would "take further quick and robust action in response".

Russia has accused the United States and Europe of pursuing Libya-style regime change in Syria, and is wary of endorsing any measures that could become a prelude to armed intervention.

Media reports have suggested that Washington is trying to enlist Russia for a plan of the kind that brought about a handover from Yemen's leader of three decades, Ali Abdullah Saleh, to an administration led by his own vice-president.

Russia has leverage over Syria through its Security Council veto and arms supply contracts, but does not wield the kind of influence that Saudi Arabia had over Saleh as his main financier.

Russia also has a strong interest in keeping its Syrian naval base at Tartous, and may still see Assad's survival as the best guarantee of this.

At his news conference with Hague, Lavrov criticized those who argued that there could be no solution to Syria's crisis while Assad remained in power.

Washington has explicitly said Assad must step down, and General Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told CNN: "Of course we always have to provide military options and they should be considered."

But he stressed that the international community should use economic and diplomatic measures first to try to push Assad to "make the right decision".

Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Elaraby sent letters to several foreign ministers describing actions in Syria as "a blatant violation of international human rights law and called for more international monitors to put an end to the "grave violations and the crimes committed in Syria".

The Syrian National Council, the main umbrella group of exiled opposition figures, on Monday made its strongest call yet for foreign intervention.

"It's high time for concrete intervention to stop the daily massacres against the Syrian people," it said in a statement.

"The council appeals to all friends and brothers of the Syrian people to supply it immediately with effective means of self defense before it is too late."

Assad has counted on sympathy from the Alawites as well as from an urban merchant class, relatively prosperous and drawn from the Sunni majority. In a sign that some of that support might be weakening, activists said Sunni traders in the capital shuttered stores in Monday in a protest at the killings in Houla and other violence in which Sunnis have been killed.

2-minute expert: How to avoid blurry photos

1 day

This holiday weekend, you may be traveling to see family, taking a scenic day trip or going to the neighbor's BBQ.

All are good photo opportunities ? whether with a "real" camera or a cellphone.?

Here are some tips to make the pictures better. Nothing too tricky: They assume you use the camera's auto setting or make minor adjustments.?[6 Tips to Use Instagram Like a Pro]

How do I make sure photos are in focus?

Often, something is in focus, but not the thing you wanted. Many modern point-and-shoot cameras and some cellphones have a face-detection mode that you can select to recognize multiple faces and optimize the focus (as well as exposure and color) for them.

If you don't have this mode, or you want to focus on something else, adjust the focus point to be more precise.?

Newer iPhones make this easy: Simply point on the screen to the part you want to be sharp.?

On other cameras, you can often change the default ? which makes a compromise so that everything is sort of sharp ? and instead chose a smaller focus point or area.?

To do this, you may have to take the camera out of auto mode and chose program mode, typically labeled "P" on the selector. [Expect to See Photo-Sharing in Ever-More Apps]

They still look blurry. What gives?

You may still get a blurry picture if you are in low light because the camera has to keep the shutter open for a relatively long time.?

The trick here is to minimize movement. If you are buying a new point-and-shoot, get one with optical image stabilizations (OIS), which moves either the lens or the image sensor to compensate for jitters.

With or without OIS, try holding the camera steadier. Make sure you have firm footing, and keep your arms close to your body when you shoot. If you can, hold the camera against something such as a pole or a tabletop. [What Makes a High-Quality Camera?]

(AP) ? Michelle Obama was with the single ladies this weekend, joining 5,500 fans at a Beyonce concert in Atlantic City.

The first lady was with daughters Sasha and Malia at Revel Resorts, where Beyonce performed two dozen songs Saturday night. Obama's husband, President Barack Obama, did not attend.

Gov. Chris Christie was among the sell-out crowd packed into Revel's Ovation Hall.

Michelle Obama and the girls appeared excited throughout the concert, cheering Beyonce on. The daughters even sang along to the old school-sounding jam "Love on Top."

Obama recently told People magazine that if she could be anyone else, it would be Beyonce. And she came close, at least in how she was received by the audience: The first lady got a roaring cheer that matched Beyonce's as she made her way to her seat in a shiny green dress. Some fans took photos while others screamed her name. One yelled, "This is history!

Beyonce opened the night with the upbeat "End of Time," wearing a glimmering silver outfit and hot pink shoes that matched her nails. She followed that with more up-tempo hits like "Crazy In Love," ''Get Me Bodied" and "Party."

During the slower grooves, Beyonce brought on the emotion. She held back tears during a rousing rendition of "Resentment" and sat on top of a piano when belting the love song "1+1."

The multiplatinum singer's Atlantic City concerts are her first since giving birth in January to daughter Blue Ivy.

"Y'all don't know how hard I had to work," Beyonce told the crowd. "I had to lose 60 pounds. They had me on the treadmill, eating lettuce."

Beyonce paid tributes to late singers throughout the night, singing a verse of Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You" and giving Donna Summer a shout-out when performing "Naughty Girl," which samples Summer's hit "Love to Love You Baby." She also performed a cover of Lauryn Hill's "Ex-Factor" and infused Goo Goo Dolls' "Iris" when she singing "If I Were a Boy."

Beyonce was backed by her all-female band and numerous dancers ? some men. She also performed Friday and has shows on Sunday and Monday at Revels, which also has a casino.

"I hope y'all win a lot of money tonight," Beyonce said at the end of her show.

Rubbermaid 7083 72-Inch Four-Shelf Double-Door Resin Storage Cabinet

Rubbermaid 7083 72-Inch Four-Shelf Double-Door Resin Storage Cabinet - Product Description

This is the perfect system to use for garage storage, where wooden or metal cabinets would be likely to get dinged by yard tools, cars, and so on.

The cabinet is easy to assemble-you don't need tools to do it, though a soft mallet may be helpful. As you expect with Rubbermaid products, the cabinet is almost indestructible. The one complaint I had is that when I put mine together in my basement the unevenness of the floor caused a slight misalignment of the doors. This was easily corrected with a shim placed under the front edge.

Notable plusses include lightweight construction that makes relocating the cabinets easy and an amazingly small footprint for what it can hold. If you intend to store toxic items, you may want to consider ordering a set of locks from the manufacturer.

Looking for affordable storage for your basement or garage? This is the unit for you.--Josh Dettweiler

(AP) ? The candidate of Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood won a spot in a run-off election, according to partial results Friday from Egypt's first genuinely competitive presidential election. A former prime minister an a leftist were vying for second place and a chance to run against him to become the country's next leader.

The run-off will be held on June 16-17, pitting the two top contenders from the first round of voting held Wednesday and Thursday. The victor is to be announced June 21.

The landmark vote ? the fruit of last year's uprising that toppled longtime leader Hosni Mubarak ? turned into a heated battle between Islamist candidates and secular figures rooted in Mubarak's old regime. The most polarizing figures in the race were the Muslim Brotherhood's Mohammed Morsi and former air force commander and former prime minister Ahmed Shafiq, a veteran of Mubarak's rule.

By midday Friday, the vote counting had been completed in 20 of the country's 27 provinces ? though workers were still plowing through the paper ballots from Egypt's biggest cities, Cairo and its sister city Giza and the Mediterranean coastal city of Alexandria.

Morsi was in the lead with 30.8 percent of the ballots so far, according to the independent newspaper Al-Masry Al-Youm, which was compiling reports from counters. That is likely enough to put him into the run-off.

But the race for second place remained narrow. Shafiq took 21 percent of the votes so far, while Hamdeen Sabahi had 20 percent, according to Al-Masry Al-Youm. The Brotherhood said in a statement that Shafiq would be in the run-off along with Morsi.

Sabahi, a leftist who models himself after the nationalist, socialist ideology of former President Gamal Abdel-Nasser, has emerged as a surprise contender during the two days of voting. He had been considered a dark horse behind four other candidates, but he surged among Egyptians looking for an alternative to both Islamists and the former regime figures known as "feloul," or "remnants."

In various independent tallies, Abdel-Moneim Abolfotoh, a moderate Islamist some had seen as another alternative candidate, was in fourth and former foreign minister Amr Moussa was a distant fifth. Newspapers reported 50 percent turnout among the 50 million eligible voters, though the election commission has not yet released an official figure.

The Brotherhood is hoping for a presidential victory to seal its political domination of Egypt, which would be a dramatic turnaround from the decades it was repressed under Mubarak. It already holds nearly half of parliament after victories in elections late last year.

The group has promised a "renaissance" of Egypt, not only reforming Mubarak-era corruption and reviving decrepit infrastructure, but also bringing a greater degree of rule by Islamic law. That prospect has alarmed more moderate Muslims, secular Egyptians and the Christian minority, who all fear restrictions on civil rights and worry that the Brotherhood shows similar domineering tendencies as Mubarak.

"I think we are on the verge of a new era. We trusted God, we trusted in the people, we trusted in our party," prominent Brotherhood figure Essam el-Erian said at a news conference late Thursday night, just hours after polls closed, when the group first claimed a Morsi victory.

A Morsi verus Shafiq runoff would likely be a particularly heated race.

Each has repeatedly spoken of the dangers, real or imaginary, if the other becomes president. Morsi has said there would be massive street protests if a "feloul" wins, arguing it could only be the result of rigging.

Shafiq, on his part, has said it would be "unacceptable" if an Islamist takes the presidential office, echoing the rhetoric of Mubarak, his longtime mentor who devoted much of his 29-year rule to fighting Islamists. Still, Shafiq's campaign has said it would accept the election's result.

And each fires up strong emotions among the public.

Shafiq drew support among Egyptians who fear Islamists or want a perceived "strongman" to bring stability after 16 months of economic and political turmoil and bloodshed since Muabrak's fall. But he also raises the venom of many who see him as another Mubarak-style autocrat, rooted in a regime that was notorious for corruption and police brutality.

Secular Egyptians fear the prospect of greater religion in government if Morsi wins. Moreover, the Brotherhood faced a backlash from many of the voters who supported it in the parliament election but later grew disillusioned. Some accused it of trying to overly monopolize power like Mubarak's ruling party once did.

Morsi's showing in the partial results was a considerable drop from the around 50 percent support the Brotherhood received in the parliament vote.

Still, Morsi benefited from the might of the Brotherhood's well-organized electoral machine, the nation's strongest.

"We need a president who gets rid of the former corrupt and oppressive system and brings Egypt back to the position it deserves economically and internationally," said Rizk Mohammed, a contractor voting with his family in Cairo on Thursday ? all for Morsi.

At another station Thursday in the Cairo district of el-Zawiya el-Hamra, several women in line to vote debated.

"I like the personality of Shafiq. He is strong enough to lift the country," said Suheir Abdel-Mumin.

Somaiya Imam, still undecided on whom to choose, replied with a reference to Islamist candidates, saying: "Don't you think we should vote for the candidate who holds the Quran?"

"We voted for them before and they let us down," Abdel-Mumin responded, referring to the Brotherhood's victories in last year's parliamentary elections. "They want everything ? the presidency, parliament and government. They are never satisfied."

Direct marketing co in administration: Proof you need to change how ...

One of Australia?s key direct marketing companies, SEMA announced their voluntary administration today.? With 700 staff in the 2009/2010 FY, and 375 at their closure, it makes you stand up and look hard at what this means for marketing.?

Is this a sign of the times? ?You?d better believe it.?

Are days of printing, packing and sending impersonal, uninvited direct mail nearly dead?? Have people simply run out of time and interest in reading outbound marketing they don?t need to? ??Can businesses really afford to prospect broadly with direct mail? ?A tool for those with deep pockets, it worked well for some who were prepared to pay for its 1-4% success rates. ?But in the internet era, is that enough of an ROI?

In these economically challenged times, this is just another sign that marketing is changing, irreversibly.? Are you ready for it?

Is your business online, engaged and ready to operate in this new communications paradigm?

To extend this reflection further, just yesterday one of my friends in the graphic design and web industry declared to me that they see little point promoting themselves in graphic design for print anymore.

Is print dead? Shall we finally throw the concept of bland impersonal and uninteresting brochures in the bin?

Has the tough economy finally forced businesses to properly accept the online, paperless approach to marketing that can be more easily customized to their target market?

The tools of the trade in marketing have undoubtedly changed.

Everything that can be printed can be read on screen.? Every person we meet in industry, can be found online.? So what is stopping us from communicating electronically and what does your business need to communicate and compete if print and direct mail aren?t important anymore?

The important things are:

A better website.? Most businesses have a website.? Few are good enough.? A website is the most powerful funnel for potential customers a business has.? When someone refers your business, people check your website to get their first impression of your business. ?When someone reads about your business online, they will visit your website to verify what it does. ?When someone meets you at an event and is interested in what you offer, they will visit your website to validate your capability before enquiring further. ?Will it call them to action, capture their interest, and generate a lead you can follow up?

A blog or place to post your content and an ecampaign tool to deliver it.? As a business in this new economy you don?t need direct mail companies, or PR companies who previously acted as gatekeepers to the media.? You have the direct line to your clients, contacts and industry through your blog, email box, and ecampaign tool.? Take advantage if it? give them valuable content and let them see how clever your business is.

?A good understanding of your social strategy and how you will resource its implementation.? Are you going to use Linkedin, Twitter or Facebook, or all three? Then, consider how often and what sort of content will you post on each.? What benefit do you want from the social networking tone and communications?

?A schedule for delivering content online in both blog and social forums. ?A good, rhythmic content schedule that allows people to receive your information and insights with religious regularity, showing how organised your business is.

I hope these ideas get you past the grief of old marketing, and well on the way to tackling the new opportunities ahead.

David Banner Drops Free Album Featuring Chris Brown, Lil Wayne

Rapper talks to Mixtape Daily about Sex, Drugs & Video Games; LP out now as free download.
By Rob Markman

Don't Sleep: Necessary Notables

Album: David Banner's Sex, Drugs & Video Games

Key Cameo: "Amazing" (featuring Chris Brown)

Essential Info: David Banner knows a thing or two about making hit records, and he promises that his latest album, Sex, Drugs & Video Games, will feature some pretty over-the-top music and some pretty notable guests as well. Chris Brown, Lil Wayne and Snoop Dogg will all appear on the LP, which Banner is offering as a free online download on DatPiff.com.

Sex, Drugs & Video Games, which dropped on Tuesday (May 22), is technically a free album, but Banner is accepting donations on his DavidBanner.com website to help artists exist outside of big corporations.

"What I am trying to do is make the two most important parts of the musical equation ... important again: That's the artist and that's the fans," Banner told MTV News back in March of what he dubs the 2M1 Movement. "Corporate entities have made the artists and the fans feel like they're not important, where without them, it all would fall."

Banner's goals are progressive, and a good number of his LP's collaborators operate and are successful within the major-label system. In theory DB's distribution method could be a conflict of interest for some, but because of Banner's relationships with the artists he works with, he doesn't foresee any issues.

"I don't necessarily involve people in my politics. I would tell Chris all the time, Dude, I don't necessarily want you to be connected with the things that I believe in, because I know there is a certain sacrifice with the things that I believe," he said. "Only thing I tell people is the record is hot and it's my album. ... Whether I connect these songs to a movement or not, it doesn't matter because if you strip the movement off of my album, it's jammin'."

"Amazing," Banner's current club banger, features Chris Brown on the hook. Though the Mississippi rapper/producer is sending a message with this album, the song is just about having a good time. "Everybody that's around me, that supports me, they know what I stand for, and then I think vicariously through me they're actually able to express some of things that they may not want to express in their own career," he said.

What's your favorite track off of David Banner's new album? Let us know in the comments.

Just Blowing Smoke...: The "Stuck on Stupid" Dictionary #33

Apparently the staff disciplinarian here at Just Blowing Smoke has achieve a modicum of succes through the occasional beatings of the lazy lexicographers of the "Stuck on Stupid" dictionary.? And though?it would be difficult to say that morale has improved, these 'enthusiasm enhancing episodes' appear to do have had at least some impact on?the quantity, if not?the quality of their efforts.? Tuition:

1.?A sum of money?imposed for the purposes of defraying the costs associated with an education annually on a per student basis.

2. A sum of money which is usually considered too low for the purposes of defraying the costs of a K-12 education annuallly on a per student basis; possibly because the charges carry a 'veil of invisibility' from being?spread over property tax payers whether they have children in school or not.??(This is?not to be confused with the?sum paid for the same?K-12 education at private schools, which is usually less, and paid for by the parents who use it directly to those schools in addition to the taxes which they otherwise pay.)

3. A sum of money which is usually considered too high when paid to an institution of higher learning for?a college education annually on a per student basis; in spite of the fact that it's nearly?identical to the sum paid for the K-12 education.? (The difference in how this number is perceived may be due to the fact that it has lost its 'veil of invisibility', is not spread over property tax payers whether they have children in school or not, and must therefore be paid for either by the parents or the students themselves? ... even if they have to borrow the money to do so.)

And while it isn't taking a huge stake in Tumblr, relative to the startup's overall investor base, the investment has been described as "significant" to CrunchFund, which had raised $20 million before launching.
